VBF-3 is a powerful, efficient and most state-of-the-art antiviral, antibacterial and antifungal nutraceutical. The first ingredient, Lauric Acid, is a monoglycerol ester of the fatty acid laurate. Laurate fatty acids contain 12 carbon atoms, present in many animal and plant sources, and possess wide spectrum, anti-infective activity against lipid-coated viruses, bacteria and fungi. Lauric Acid is normally found in breast milk and is present in order to keep viruses out and to protect the infant before it's own immune system is fully developed. The antiviral action of Lauric Acid works by its ability to solubilize (emulsify) the lipids (fats) and phospholipids in the envelope of the virus which causes the disintegration of the virus' protective envelope. As the envelope is made up of lipid bilayers, by lysing its plasma membrane, the DNA and protein capsid are inactivated. There is also research-backed evidence that one of the antimicrobial effects of Lauric Acid is related to its interference with the signal transduction in cellular replication. The antibacterial activity of Lauric Acid has been demonstrated in studies showing how the rate of spore inactivation increases 2-3 times by the addition of Lauric Acid. Lauric Acid also has activity against a number of fungi. For example, it has been shown to reduce the growth and extracellular accumulation of aflatoxins by aspergillus Flavus (a. Flavus) and aspergillus Parasiticus (a. Parasiticus). Following are some of the major Lipid-Coated Viruses (LCV's) that Lauric Acid is effective against; HIV-1, HIV+, Herpes simplex virus-1, Herpes simplex virus-2, Epstein-Barr virus, Influenza virus, Leukemia virus, Pneumovirus, Sarcoma virus, Rubeola virus and Cytomegalovirus. Some of the major Lipid
Coated Bacteria (LCB's) that Lauric Acid is effective against are; Listeria monocytogenes, Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori, gram negative), Hemophilus influenza (gram negative), staphylococcus Aureus (s. Aureus), streptococcus Agalactiae and Group A,B,F&G streptococci. In numerous studies, Lauric Acid has also shown significant effectiveness when used in conjunction with protease and supreme enzymes, allowing them to function more effectively.

Beta-1,3 D-glucan (Beta-glucan) is a naturally occurring polysaccharide (carbohydrate) which is a major structural component of the cell wall structures of yeast, barley and oat. The polyglucose chain of Beta-glucan acts as a non-specific immune system activator that is acid-resistant, thus its structure remains intact despite the exposure to stomach acid. The Beta-glucan is absorbed, unaltered, through the intestinal mucosa in order to activate macrophages and NK (Natural Killer) cells of the immune system. Since there is a significant amount of lymphoid tissue and resultant macrophage population in the intestinal tract, Beta-glucans activate the intestinal macrophages, promote the release of cytokines, Interleukin-1, Interleukin-2 and Interferon, which collectively provide protection in the bowel and throughout the entire lymphatic system. Beta-glucans are pharmacologic agents that enhance host resistance to a variety of biological insults (i.e., viruses, bacteria, parasites, etc.) via specific mechanisms which involve macrophage/monocyte activation for the immunologic cascade. The broad spectrum immunopharmacological properties of the Beta-glucans exhibit significant anti abnormal growth activity via the enhanced activation of macrophages, T-Cells, B-Cells and NK cells and enhance the tumor Necrosis Factor (TNF). Finally, the incidences of hospital pneumonia and sepsis cases have been shown to be significantly reduced with the addition of Beta-glucan to patient protocols.

Olive Leaf Extract has documented research which shows that it possesses unique properties for the broad killing of many harmful organisms. It interferes with amino acid production essential for viruses, has the ability to contain viral infection by inactivating viruses or by preventing virus "shedding", and can directly penetrate infected cells and stop viral replication. In the case of retroviruses, it has the ability to neutralize the production of reverse transcriptase and protease, enzymes essential for a retrovirus (such as HIV) to alter the RNA of a healthy cell. Olive Leaf Extract can also stimulate the action of phagocytosis, an immune system response in which cells ingest harmful foreign organisms..
